We asked The Good life France editor Janine Marsh to give us her three top tips to Lille – one of Euro 2016’s host cities.
- Don’t miss the Vielle Bourse, the Old Stock Exchange. In the inner, glorious, open courtyard is a second hand book market by day, and on Sunday nights through the summer, tango dancing – it’s enchanting.
- Head to Meert chocolate shop which opened in 1761 – and enjoy a real life Willy Wonka “wow” moment (27 Rue Esquermoise).
- Lille is one of France’s top gastronomic destinations, try the local speciality mussels and chips washed down with a cool beer or chilled wine, this is real France.
